Thank you!

Thank you very much for your support of our campaign, Hour Leeds Clockworks.

We are very proud of the final exhibition of clocks, all hand decorated by local artists and famous names, which has reached fans all over the world (over 25,000 hits on this blog) and some of our clocks found new homes in Canada, California and Italy.

The exhibition and auction of all the clocks closed on 28th June 2013 and we are delighted to announce that over £5500 has been raised for St Vincent Support Centre in Leeds, which will go directly towards supporting families facing poverty.

The campaign would not have been possible without the support of our sponsor: CCL, David Young Community Academy and ICM Creative Communications, who are all local to St Vincent's in Leeds and have played a huge part in the success of Clockworks.

For more information about St Vincent's or this particular campaign, please visit our website

Capt. David Wiseman

Clock design
David's clock is made up of two halves, one covered in the material of his old jungle DPM (camouflage pattern) trousers being shattered by a bullet hole. The other half shows mountain scenes of David climbing Mt Manaslu (8163m) as part of a Walking With The Wounded Expedition. The hole linking the two halves is 7.62mm in diameter - the same size as the bullet which hit David in the chest as he served in Afghanistan. The DPM is set to 10:30, the time he was shot, hence the position of the bullet hole. On the back of the clock is written 'Capt. DM Wiseman. WIA 10:30 15 Nov 09. Helmand.'

"My clock is in two halves to show that in one tick of the second hand, your life can change forever. Hopefully people can see that you can't always control what life throws at you with that change, but it's up to you to make the best of what you're dealt."

All clocks in this auction are open for silent bids. Simply email or call 0113 248 4126 with your offer. The person placing the highest offer will be contacted after the bidding ends on 28th June.

Introduction to the artist
David Wiseman was an Infantry officer serving with The Yorkshire Regiment in the Nad E' Ali District of Helmand Province in 2009. During a fire fight with the Taliban he suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and nearly lost his life in a stinking ditch in Afghanistan. In 2011, he wanted to show that, although his military career was effectively over, he still had more to give and with the charity Walking With The Wounded he helped to raise £2M by successfully climbing the highest mountain in Italy and the eighth highest mountain in the world, Mt Manaslu (8163m). In 2012 he was beaten back by poor conditions on Mt Everest.
